North Side Mega Fix

Major Milestone Reached While You Were Sleeping

Concrete was poured on the last of the new bridges for the Interstate 270/315/23 North Side Mega Fix project during the overnight hours. This signifies a major milestone on this interchange reconstruction project.

Wide Angle

Once complete, this new bridge will carry both directions of US 23 traffic to westbound I-270 towards Sawmill Road.

Most bridge deck pours occur during the overnight hours because temperatures are cooler.

Pouring Concrete

Crews worked all night. By day break, the fresh concrete was covered and will remain that way until the deck has ‘cured,’ which is usually a week, sometimes two.

The project is still on schedule, weather permitting, for completion this Fall. That means all lanes, ramps and bridges will be in their final configuration and open to traffic.

Upcoming Work on the North Side Mega Fix at I-270/US 23/ SR 315

Olentangy Trail under I-270

A portion of the Olentangy Trail under I-270 will close August 1 – November 1, weather permitting, to complete construction on new ramps and bridges at the I-270/SR 315 interchange.

Twin Rivers Drive Closes Monday for 45 Days

9 AM: Twin Rivers Drive will close south of Goodale. This means drivers will not be able to access Twin Rivers Drive from either direction of Goodale or from Olentangy River Road. Detour: US 33 (Dublin Road) to Twin Rivers Drive.

9 AM: Olentangy River Road will be reduced to two lanes SB and one lane NB between Goodale Blvd. and the ramps at SR 315 south for 45 days.

Completion: September 13.

This closure is necessary to realign the right turn lane on Twin Rivers Drive to come to a “T” at the traffic signal, instead of a free-flow turn lane as it is today (pictured below).

This $3.5 million project will improve the Goodale Blvd/Twin Rivers Dr/Olentangy River Rd intersection and the SR 315/Olentangy River Rd intersection.
