By Lenny C. Lepola -

Thanksgiving is on the horizon, and Christmas is just around the bend — and Community Library in Sunbury is scheduling holiday events geared to local youth.

From 4 to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, children ages 5 to 10 can enjoy “Turkey Craft.” Participants can join library staff for a “gobbling good time,” as the staff celebrates Thanksgiving by making a fun stuffed animal turkey.

From 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, children and youth of all ages are invited to a “Polar Express Christmas party.” It’s the 30th birthday of “Polar Express,” and Community Library is providing an evening of holiday fun with crafts, Santa and hot chocolate.

From 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, Community Library will host “Christmas Craft” for youth age 10 to 18. Community Library staff has projects for everyone with a fun-filled afternoon creating colorful Christmas ornaments, bookmarks and locker magnets.

All Community Library holiday youth events are free of charge, but registration is required for each event.

To register, stop at Community Library, 44 Burrer Drive, Sunbury, or call 740-965-3901. You can also register online at
