Fall sports are wrapped up, team tournament play is over, banquet awards are sitting on shelves, and the Big Walnut 2015-16 basketball season will soon be underway.
Tomorrow evening (Friday, Nov. 13) the first volley of the season will fired as teams and fans gather in the Big Walnut High School gymnasium for the district’s traditional basketball season kickoff event – “Eagle Madness.”
In its 17th year of welcoming in the winter sports season, there will be formal introductions to seventh-grade, eighth-grade, freshman, junior varsity and varsity basketball teams and cheer squads.
Eagle Madness also features introductions to Big Walnut Youth Basketball Association recreation and travel boys and girls teams.
The evening always includes a host of games, music, door prizes, T-shirts and a half-court shot contest; and the highlight of the evening will be an autograph session by members of the high school boys and girls varsity teams.
Eagle Madness doors open at 6:30 p.m. The event begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
