Why drive all the way to Ann Arbor wrestling with traffic, stand in ticket lines, brave cold weather, and pay high prices for concessions at an OSU versus Michigan game when you can tailgate with local OSU fans and watch the game in the comfort of a theatre seat?
Members of the OSU Alumni Club of Delaware County are hosting a Buckeyes/Wolverines game watch and tailgate this Saturday, November 28, at the historic Strand Theatre in downtown Delaware.
Best of all, admission is free and there will be tailgate food available for purchase – brats, hot dogs, popcorn, soda, beer, and mixed drinks.
There will be a prize for the best-dressed Buckeye fan, door prizes, and a 50/50 drawing with 50 percent of the proceeds going to The Strand Theatre to support the purchase of new seats.
Drawings will occur during half time. Brutus Buckeye will make an appearance – a surrogate, of course, because the real Brutus will be at the game. The Strand Theater is located at 28 E. Winter Street in Delaware. The tailgate starts at 10 a.m. with a 12-noon kick-off.
Founded in 2011, The OSU Alumni Club of Delaware’s is a non-profit whose primary mission is fund raising to support Delaware County students attending The Ohio State University with scholarships.

On April 10, 1916, The Strand Theatre opened and has been showing movies continually ever since. In 1982, a second screen was added and in 1986, a third screen. In 2002, Ohio Wesleyan University took ownership and helped create The Strand Theatre and Cultural Arts Association, a 501(c)3 non-profit board that currently owns The Strand.
