Schultz to teach OCBC seminar in Mount Gilead

Reverend Dr. Dennis Schultz, D. Min. of Mount Gilead will teach the Ohio Central Bible College Spring Seminar. His topic will be “Comparing and Contrasting Protestant Denominations.” The event will be held Saturday, April 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mount Gilead Public Library’s Annex Building, 35 E. High Street in the lower level meeting room. The building is accessible to the handicapped. This will be the first time that OCBC holds an academic event in Mount Gilead.

Schultz is the Dean of Faculty at OCBC, a Christian and independent Bible college with its main campus in Iberia. He is pastor of the Concord Liberty Baptist Church in Johnstown and an adjunct professor at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Schultz is a graduate of Palmer Seminary of Eastern University (D. Min.), Westminster Seminary (M.A.) and Grace College (B.A.). He was ordained by the American Baptist Churches/USA and has ministered in four churches over his 42 years of pastoral service.

The cost for the OCBC seminar is $20 per person. Lunch will be held at a restaurant in downtown Mount Gilead. The seminar is open to the public and also area pastors desiring continuing education credit. Phone (419) 946-5576 to preregister. All are welcome.

New pastor at Peachblow

Dr. Joel Baer has been appointed by the West Ohio Conference as the pastor of Peachblow United Methodist Church in Lewis Center, OH.

He has previously served in Circleville, Clintonville, Dayton, Delaware, Jeffersonville, Marion, Sylvania and Westerville, all in Ohio.

In addition, he was administrative chaplain for Wesley Glen and Wesley Ridge Retirement Centers. Dr. Baer has been a pastor for 58 consecutive years. Joel and Emily Baer reside in Wesleyan Woods.
