Busy Spring for Girl Scouts

Girls from the Big Walnut area Girl Scout troops made 100 flower bouquets and handmade cards then delivered them to each resident at Country View nursing home. Thanks to Molly’s Flowers for supplying the flowers at a reduced cost.

Girls also participated in the Sunbury Memorial Day ceremonies by being involved in the flag ceremony and joining the parade to the cemetery to lay flowers on veterans’ graves.

Junior Troop 2596 coordinated a Mother’s Day Chocolate Fondue event for girls and their moms. Troop 1262 coordinated a Father’s Day Candy Bar Bouquet Workshop where participants created professional-style candy bar bouquets in a personally-decorated mugs for their dads and grandpas.

Big Walnut Service Unit leader Kim Murnieks served as a delegate at the national Girl Scouts convention in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Junior Troop 2596 coordinated a float in the Sunbury Independence Day Parade and older girls walked and rode bikes. Some troops walked with Big Walnut Friends Who Share to distribute flags along the parade route.
