I am writing to support the Delaware County Senior Services Levy, which will be on the ballot May 8.
Meals on Wheels, our homemaker escort, an emergency response system, and the Senior Companion program all were invaluable to my father several years ago.
During my 22 years as a family doctor in Sunbury, I often referred patients and their families to SourcePoint, the nonprofit responsible for providing senior services in the county, and distributed copies of their directory.
SourcePoint’s nutrition services are especially important to healthy aging. A senior living on “tea and toast” becomes malnourished and susceptible to illness very quickly.
These services are vital to allowing seniors to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. For pennies a day, we can continue the outstanding programs offered by SourcePoint.
From 2009 to 2015, I served on the SourcePoint Board of Directors and witnessed firsthand the dedication to seniors from the Executive Director, in-home care consultants, staff, volunteers, and many others. SourcePoint is an organization without parallel in Ohio.
Vote “Yes” on the Senior Services Levy!
