The article in your January 25 edition regarding the anti-Congressman Tiberi rallies was incredibly biased and one-sided, very much like an editorial in support of the Tiberi protestors. Although it is stated that it was written by News reporters, it read as though written by those being reported on. In the past, I have appreciated the objective reporting of your now retired, Lenny Lepola. He would never have produced this kind of unbalanced report. Comments from the congressman’s office are the very least we should expect.
For the record, I am a strong supporter of the congressman, with whom I served in the Ohio General Assembly (83-99), as are the overwhelming majority of voters in the 12th district, which he has won handily for ten terms. When I was Director of the Ohio Department of Aging (99-05), I worked with Mr. Tiberi on senior issues. He was a major factor in securing renewal of the Older Americans Act, always working to make it better. His knowledge of the issues is extensive, allowing him to make positive decisions not only for his district but for the country.
Most constituents will miss him and his dedication.
