Big Walnut High School Girls Varsity Cross Country finishes 8th place at OHSAA Early Meet Invitational

Cross Country The Girls’ Cross Country Team had a strong showing Saturday (Aug. 18) at National Trails for the OHSAA Invitational to start their season. It was a great meet with teams not normally seen at this time of the season. As a team, the girls placed 8th out of 16. We raced against 471 girls, in three separate races. In the varsity race there were 16 teams entered with a full squad (five or more athletes).

Individually, Colbi Borland set the pace running 19:48.8 and placing 4th. This is the same course she ran last year in the Division I state meet as a sophomore. Grace Unger became a medalist for the team, placing 29th with a time of 22:05.2.

Big Walnut High School Boys Varsity Cross Country finishes 16th place at OHSAA Early Season Invitational

Cross Country The Boys’ Cross Country Team ran in their first meet of the season Saturday (Aug. 18) at National Trails for the OHSAA Invitational. The young runners faced 479 other athletes, and placed 16th of the 17 scoring teams. They were led by junior Jacob Krous who ran a time of 19:10.6 and freshman Christopher Lee with a time of 19:31.9.

The second OCC match of the season proved to be successful for the Golden Eagles. This was the first match that three golfers were able to break the 80’s barrier. Austen Bennett led the way with a season low 75 followed by Zack Herberts 77 and Kyle Williams 78..
