Patton, VanHoose Named NCAC Players of Week

Ohio Wesleyan University freshman Chase Patton (Delaware/Hayes) and junior Erica VanHoose (Marysville) have been named North Coast Athletic Conference Players of the Week for the week of Jan. 14, it was announced by the NCAC.

Patton, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan women’s track & field team, was named Women’s Field Event Athlete of the Week, while VanHoose, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan women’s track & field team, was named Women’s Middle Distance/Distance Runner of the Week.

Patton won the pole vault by clearing 11-¾ at the Ron Althoff Relays meet on Friday. She also ran on the Bishops’ first-place 800-meter relay team, which won in 1:50.43, in helping Ohio Wesleyan win the team title.

VanHoose ran on a pair of first-place relay teams at the Ron Althoff Relays meet. She anchored the Bishop 4000-meter distance medley relay team, which won in 13:37.83, and ran the 800-meter anchor leg on the Bishop 1600-meter sprint medley relay team, which won in 4:47.85, to help Ohio Wesleyan win the team title.
