Genoa’s Rubber Ducky Race reset

Genoa Township area residents purchased rubber duckies for the Great Duck Race, scheduled for the Sunday, May 17, Center Green Park Festival Great Rubber Ducky Race, then foul weather hit the area and the festival was cancelled.

Duck race fans need not worry; they didn’t throw their money away. Rubber Ducky dollars were kept in escrow (the bottom drawer in Linda Greco’s desk, Dawn Durbin holds the key, Pat Myers kept the books) and the race has been rescheduled for this coming Monday.

“Genoa Township is going to take another quack at The Great Duck Race on Monday, June 15, at 11 a.m.,” said Genoa Township Administrator Paul Wise. “Beak sure to join us at Center Green Park to witness this event; feather permitting of course.”

Wise said anyone who purchased a $1 rubber ducky is still automatically entered in the Great Rubber Ducky Race. Best of all, Race a Rubber Ducky for a Buck participants do not have to be present to win.

The 50/50 Raffle race benefits Friends of Genoa Township.
